Story of Margaret’s dress

Story of Margaret’s dress

Margaret design is inspired by the matching cotton dresses worn by Princesses Elizabeth and Margaret in 1937. Those outfits symbolized the unique bond between siblings. Margaret blends the beauty of both dresses into one, embodying a timeless connection that endures as siblings grow older.

Distinctively Margaret

When designing Margare, I wandered around Queen Elizabeth’s childhood dresses and noticed these beautiful dresses. The matching dresses of Queen Elizabeth and her sister immediately became a great symbol for my next design. I realize what is best for collars. I also like the idea of a bodice, so I designed it with more detail. A smocking pattern running around her waist, like a twisted bead pattern. From the Queen Elizabeth dress, I kept the idea of buttons down the front. All the time, I envisioned the smocking in various colours and patterns, as if they represent different journeys. Every design, I keep reinventing it. Margare tell the story of the universe. I love the idea of orange flowers on top of dark blue smocking. It’s beautiful like a game of hide-and-seek, the moon and stars in the middle of the night.

Delicate florals symbolize timeless elegance. I like to imagine that those little girls who wear it will keep it for their siblings and keep it as a timeless heirloom—a gentle symbol of guidance on the path to countless adventures.
